Healthy Edible Cookie Dough

My food cravings usually involve something salty or savory, but every once in awhile - I crave something sweet.

I was a very strange kid - I didn’t love chocolate. My mom would make chocolate chip cookies and would always make a few for me without chocolate chips. I absolutely LOVED my “chocolate chip cookies” and my mom had the patience of a saint for appealing to my oddball requests. 😂

As I grew up, I started to enjoy chocolate chip cookies that ACTUALLY HAD chocolate chips in them, and who hasn’t enjoyed a spoonful (or 3) of raw cookie dough while silently praying that those raw eggs wouldn’t make us sick?

I’m certainly not averse to an occasional treat, but if I’m being honest with myself, eating pasta for every meal and treating myself to Jeni’s Ice Cream every single night wouldn’t leave me feeling my best.

I try to fuel my body with good-for-you foods every single day so I wanted to create something that was easy, healthy, and satisfied my sweet craving.

The good news is, this edible cookie dough takes about as much time to make as it does for that sweet craving to hit.

I started creating this recipe with every intention of making cookie dough balls - which you can absolutely do - but honestly, sometimes you just need a bowl of cookie dough, so there’s no judgment over here if you do end up eating it right out of the mixing bowl. 😉

While I won’t be ruling out my occasional Jeni’s Ice Cream runs, this healthy edible cookie dough is definitely going to become a staple. It’s tasty, packed with protein, good fats, and SO EASY TO MAKE.

It’s also vegan, dairy-free, paleo, low-sugar, low-carb and UNDER 250 CALORIES a serving so you can enjoy your guilt-free edible cookie dough by the spoonful.

Notes:

*I used Garden of Life Protein because I prefer a plant protein - it’s clean and tastes great

*I love Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips because they’re dairy-free and you would never know the difference because they taste SO GOOD, but you could use another brand if you have it on hand
